Faith Connect Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Faith Connect mobile application and related services operated by SABASABA Gospel Ministry (“Faith Connect,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

When you create or use an account, we may collect information such as:

• Name or display name
• Email address
• Profile picture
• Country or general location entered by you
• User identification number created by our authentication system
• Online status and last-seen information

User-generated content

Depending on the features you use, we may process:

• Community posts, comments, reactions, testimonies and prayer requests
• Private messages and message delivery/read status
• Photos, videos, voice messages and documents you choose to upload
• Notifications and call-related status information

Camera and microphone

Faith Connect requests access to your camera and microphone only when needed for features such as taking or sharing media, recording voice messages, and making voice or video calls. You control these permissions through your device settings.

Technical information

Our service providers may automatically process limited technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the app, such as device information, IP address, browser or app information, timestamps, authentication events and diagnostic information.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts
• Provide community, messaging, media-sharing and calling features
• Deliver notifications and message receipts
• Display profiles and user-selected content to other users
• Protect users, prevent abuse and enforce app rules
• Maintain, improve and troubleshoot the app
• Respond to support, privacy and account-deletion requests
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Voice and Video Calls

Voice and video calls use WebRTC technology to transmit audio and video in real time between call participants. Faith Connect does not intentionally record voice or video calls. Call setup information, such as caller and receiver identifiers, call status, timestamps and connection-signalling data, may be processed through Firebase so the call can be established and managed.

4. How Information Is Shared

We may share or make information available in the following circumstances:

• With other users: Profile information, community content and content you send directly to another user are visible to the intended audience.
• With service providers: We use third-party services that process data on our behalf to provide authentication, databases, hosting, media uploads and related app functions.
• For safety or legal reasons: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse or prevent fraud.
• With your consent: We may share information when you clearly ask or authorize us to do so.

We do not sell users' personal information.

5. Third-Party Services

Faith Connect currently uses services including:

• Google Firebase for authentication, databases, real-time updates and related backend services.
• ImageKit for uploading, storing and delivering user-selected photos, videos and files. (Earlier versions of the app used Cloudinary for this purpose.)
• Vercel for a small server function that secures media uploads.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy terms and security practices. Their services may process data in countries outside your own.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain security, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. User content may remain until it is deleted by the user, removed by an administrator, or deleted as part of an approved account-deletion request. Some backup or security records may remain for a limited period after deletion.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect user information. However, no internet service or storage system can guarantee complete security. Users should avoid sharing highly sensitive, confidential or unlawful information through the app.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

• Edit certain profile information in the app
• Delete content where the app provides a delete option
• Control camera, microphone and notification permissions in device settings
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
• Request deletion of your Faith Connect account and associated data

9. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your Faith Connect account in two ways.

Option 1: Delete it inside the app

1. Sign in to Faith Connect and open Profile.
2. Tap Delete My Account.
3. Enter your password and confirm.

This permanently deletes your sign-in account, your profile, and the posts, comments, Faith Moments, prayer requests and notifications you created. It cannot be undone.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in, send an email to sabasabawk@gmail.com using the email address connected to your Faith Connect account, with the subject line Faith Connect Account Deletion Request. Include your account name or user email. We may ask you to verify account ownership before completing the request.

Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, or where we must keep it for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance. Messages you sent privately to other users may remain visible to those users.

10. Children's Privacy

Faith Connect is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and remove it.

11. User Responsibilities

Users must respect the privacy and rights of others. Do not upload or share another person's private information, images, recordings or documents without permission. Do not use Faith Connect for harassment, impersonation, illegal activity or harmful content.

12. International Data Processing

Because our service providers operate internationally, information may be processed or stored outside Tanzania or your country of residence. We rely on our providers' contractual, organizational and technical safeguards for such processing.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, our data practices or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
